Wheel Fitment Guide

Not sure what fits your car? This guide breaks down the key wheel fitment terms in simple language, with practical notes to help you understand what suits your vehicle before placing an order.

PCD / Bolt Pattern

Simple: The stud pattern that determines whether the wheel physically bolts to your car.

Technical: In 5x114.3, the first number is the number of studs and the second number is the pitch circle diameter in millimetres.

Offset

Simple: Offset controls how far the wheel sits in or out from the guard. It is one of the biggest factors in whether a wheel looks right and actually fits.

Technical: Offset is the distance from the wheel centreline to the mounting face. Higher positive offset usually tucks the wheel inward. Lower offset usually pushes the wheel outward.

Important: Aggressive offsets can create guard clearance, brake clearance, suspension clearance and legal fitment issues. If you are unsure, ask GT Street before ordering.

Diameter

Simple: Diameter is the wheel size, usually written as 17 inch, 18 inch, 19 inch or 20 inch.

Technical: Larger diameter wheels can improve appearance and brake clearance, but may reduce tyre sidewall and ride comfort.

Width

Simple: Width determines how wide the wheel is and what tyre sizes can be used.

Technical: Wider wheels can give more grip and stance, but may require careful offset and tyre selection to avoid scrubbing.

Centre Bore

Simple: Centre bore is the hole in the middle of the wheel that sits over the hub.

Technical: If the bore is larger than the hub, hub rings may be required. If it is too small, the wheel will not fit.

Tyre Sizing

Simple: Tyres must match the wheel width, vehicle clearance and intended use.

Technical: Tyre width, sidewall profile and rolling diameter all affect ride, speedometer accuracy, clearance and handling.

Street fitment

Street fitment usually focuses on appearance, handling, brake clearance and daily usability. Aggressive offset and wider wheels can look excellent, but they need to be matched properly to avoid rubbing, poor ride quality or illegal poke.

Off-road fitment

Off-road fitment focuses on strength, tyre clearance, load suitability and practical use. The right wheel and tyre package can improve stance and capability, but clearance around guards, suspension and steering components matters.
